Youth Protection Policy
Berriz has in place and enforces a Youth Protection Policy based on the <Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection> and the <Juvenile Protection Act> to protect the juvenile from unwholesome information and help provide a safe internet experience for them.
Under this Youth Protection Policy, a juvenile is defined as a person under the age of nineteen (19) and a person who obtains the age of nineteen (19) after January 1 during the relevant year will be deemed to be an adult.
1. Goals and Basic Principles for Protection of Juvenile We strive to promote sound growth of the juvenile by protecting them from mentally and physically unwholesome environments and has implemented this Youth Protection Policy to provide a service that allows the juvenile to use the internet safely.
2. Protection and Management Measures for Protection of Juvenile against Unwholesome Information To prevent the juvenile from being exposed to unwholesome information without any restrictions, we have created and put in place an age verification system for unwholesome media content, and we are restricting usage of services with adult verification mechanism to the juvenile accordingly. We also continuously monitor content and keywords that are illegal or unwholesome for the juvenile. Berriz clearly defines and strictly manages the unwholesome information for the juvenile. Berriz defines any content that may impair the mental or physical health or sound growth of the juvenile, such as contents involving sexual, violent, or criminal elements, gambling, or substance abuse, as unwholesome information for the juvenile. To prevent the distribution of such information in advance, we are strengthening our internal review and monitoring procedures.
3. Counseling and Grievance Resolution for Harm Caused by Unwholesome Information We have professional staff available for counseling and resolving grievances relating to harm caused by unwholesome information in order to minimize and mitigate the impact of the harm. You may request counseling from or file your grievance with the Juvenile Protection Officer by referring to the contact information specified below. If the issue cannot be resolved internally, we will refer you to the appropriate external agency.

Berriz operates a thorough child and juvenile risk assessment procedure when launching new services or revising existing services related to child and juvenile. The assessment results prepared by the person in charge of the service are reviewed by the Juvenile Protection Officer and are reported to and approved by the management, and these results are managed by the organization responsible for technology ethics within Kakao Corp. Furthermore, with reference to UNICEF’s Digital Child Rights Impact Assessment, we developed an inspection tool to preliminarily review potential effects on child and juvenile. Through this, we strive to reflect both international standards and domestic laws and policies in a balanced manner. Moreover, Berriz manages risks related to child and juvenile within an integrated cyclical system of ‘policy and governance establishment → risk assessment and mitigation measures → operation of a grievance procedure’. Moving forward, Berriz will create a safe and trustworthy internet environment and continuously strive to ensure that the juvenile can grow within a healthy culture through access to appropriate contents.
Supplementary Provisions (Effective Date) This Youth Protection Policy will take effect on October 28, 2025.
